Venda Velha

Venda Velha is an enjoyable and highly traditional Madeiran social bar located in the popular 'Old Town' in one of Funchal's cobbled alleys. Venda Velha's aim is to recreate the typical ambiance which existed at the beginning of the XX century in Madeira's bars. It was in locales such as this one where friends, family and neighbours would join together for a drink at the end of the day or on weekends where they would relax whilst reading the morning paper or chatting with friends. As well as being a social bar, the Venda Velha sells local produce such as dry wine among other products needed for day-to-day use. It is decorated with furniture, televisions and radios used during the XX century as well as old utensils and coffee machines. Serves specialty Ponchas made up of original flavours such as wild berries, guaba, pineapple, tangerine and passion fruit.
