Located on the main road, the Chalet Vicente is private with large indoor and outdoor spaces and private verandas. This restaurant offers traditional Portuguese cuisine with many alternatives to the conventional way of Madeiran cooking with a large selection of wines also. Hugely popular with friendly and cozy atmosphere. Offers hot and cold lunch buffet from Mon-Fri and À la Carte at dinner. Prior reservation is advised but walk-ins are welcome.

Summary:
LOVELY FOOD

We had a lovely meal here in September 2013. For the first time in years, I had rabbit stew and my husband had steak. Both were cooked to perfection and was served by friendly and polite staff who couldn't do enough for you. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious traditional meal in lovely surroundings. The only criticism (nothing to do with the food) was that the restaurant is just off the Estrada Monumental, the main road through Madeira. We chose to sit on the veranda as it was so hot, and to be honest, it was extremely noisy. However, next time we visit we will sit inside.
