Dona Amélia

The Dona Amélia Restaurant is located near the Lido hotel zone in a quiet off the main road street behind where the Classic Savoy Hotel used to be situated. There is a ground floor with a cocktail bar and the main dining room is located on the first floor which offers an enjoyable view over the surrounding buildings. Interior is traditional and homely and allows for a comfortable eating experience. The Dona Amélia specializes in traditional Mediterranean cuisine plus some of the most favourite Madeiran dishes. Menu includes a pleasant selection of fish dishes with grilled scabbard fish, tuna fish steaks with fettuccini, Lobster Cardinale and grilled prawns as an example as well as delicious meat dishes such as grilled chicken, Filet Mignon, Chateaubriand, Saddle of Lamb and Madeiran Style Kebabs. To add there are also a number of soups, salads and desserts including some original sweets. Regarded as being one of the best restaurants in Funchal because of its high quality service and professionalism.
