Café do Museu

The Café do Museu is a restaurant and café located in the beautiful Praça do Municipio (Town Hall Square) in the centre of Funchal. The Café do Museu is also adjoined to the Funchal Sacred Art Museum. A very modern and innovative restaurant/café offering many alternatives to typical cuisine in Madeira at surprisingly competitive prices. Interior is elegantly decorated with modern art portraits and walls of glass so you can see to the outside square and fountain centred in the middle. Offers a good-sized esplanade for outdoor dining. Menu is made up of a decent selection of modern meat and fish dishes as well as offering vegetarian meals. Specialties include tuna carpaccio, steaks, salmon and flavoursome salads plus other snacks. There is also a variety of delicious desserts to choose from with their specialty chocolate cake being the most highly recommended. Some cocktails are also available. Service is laid back and friendly but professional. Great atmosphere during daytime and evening meals with a very relaxing vibe.
