A Muralha Restaurante is situated in the centre of the historical 'Old Town' area in Funchal. A very classically Madeiran and refined restaurant with esplanade known for its expertise in typical Regional cooking. Serves snacks for light meals as well as offering a 3 course meal menu at reasonable prices. Excellent variety of meat and fish dishes with specialties such as the regional Espetada, fish skewers, Espada fish with banana, steaks and pork dishes in a variety of Madeiran sauces. Beautiful presentation of dishes. Serves traditional alcoholic beverages and offers a good wine list. Excellent and attentive service with staff dominating the English language. Offers live music on Thursday and Sunday nights creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere whilst dining.

Great restaurant

We visited this restaurant three times whilst in Madeira, great food, excellent service and really friendly staff. The food was the best we had in Madeira it was tasty and always well cooked and presented.
Every year again

We meet this restaurant since 10 years every year. We are always satisfied with food and drinks. My husband takes several kind of fish, I need meat - steak and especially the traditional "Espetada"
