Armazém do Sal

Overview

A high quality restaurant located in one of Funchal's traditional winding alleys. Since its opening in 2007, the Armazém do Sal restaurant has already been voted as one of the best restaurants to be found in the Madeiran capital. Part of an old stone building, the Armazém do Sal effortlessly combines a rustic interior theme with class. Because of this interesting fusion, one can eat quality cuisine in a relaxed environment at the same time as dining in style. On offer are varieties of fish, seafood, meat and pasta dishes with specialities in beef steaks and even more tempting desserts. Good wine list with wines to suit particular meals. Has an À la Carte menu and a less expensive lunch menu. Sits up to 140 people with three different eating areas. Regular live music including guitar and accordion. Excellent and attentive staff which can help with translating dishes on the menu or suggesting the perfect wine to accompany your meal.

  • Yes, I would go back!

We went here twice and on both occasions were delighted with the food on offer. Light fresh tasting, wonderful flavour combinations and a great inclusive price for 3 courses plus Amuse Bouche and coffee to follow. Enjoyed the live music both evenings and because we tried tables both inside and outside would recommend either. However this restaurant provides sensible portion sizes, not for you if you want a large meal with chips!!
